Sports Day

The sun shone, but was not too hot, for KS2 Sports Day. Mr Lowe took the microphone to announce the events. A team of helpers from HCC supervised the circular sports activities.
At the end of the afternoon, the Grovelands cricket team arrived to complete the annual best-of-three friendly rivalry. This year Grovelands won the first game, and Hawkes Farm the second, so this was the decider. Our captain, J Leckie, won the toss and decided to bat first. We made 141 runs. In the last over of the game Grovelands required 8 runs to win, but T Venton took a wicket with his first ball, making the requirement 13 off 5 balls, an altogether more difficult task. We won the game by 6 runs. Well done to the whole team.
