The school cricket team travelled to the County Ground to compete in the Grand Finals of the 2005 Davies & Tate Kwik Cricket Tournament. A number of parents helped with transport and stayed to lend their support.
The weather remained fair (until a downpour interrupted the presentations) but the team, although competing strongly to the end, were unable to rediscover the fine form they had displayed at both the regional Davies & Tate rounds and the Herstmonceux Tournament. Indeed, Tollgate, the team Hawkes Farm had beaten in the finals at Herstmonceux, defeated us today in the opening game, and went on to be the outright winners.
