Goodbyes

Mrs Jo Vickers, who is retiring after more than 25 years at Hawkes Farm, was presented with her leaving gifts in a special assembly on Wednesday. Find out why one of her presents was a soft gel saddle by watching this movieclip.

Yesterday, (the children's last day), there was a special Leavers' Assembly. All those moving on to secondary school were wished well and encouraged to be brave and make the first effort when making new friends. Mrs Cobb's theme was 'smile' - give a smile and get a smile back.

Miss Carver and Miss Hines, both leaving for promotion to leadership posts in other schools, were presented with their leaving gifts. Together with Mrs Vickers they had (on Wednesday) presented the school with a didgeridoo.

The Y6 children spent much of the day getting their tops signed in the traditional manner.

Today was an INSET day with a BBQ lunch and short game of stoolball in the afternoon (watched by various children from their bedroom windows and back gardens).
