Year 6 walked to HCC this morning to watch the annual Christmas production.
The school celebrated Anti-Bullying Week by joining in the National Blue Day with a children coming in to school dressed in blue on Friday 25th November.
On Monday 28th John Kahn conducted anti-bullying workshops with Y5 and Y6. On the same day, Y3 took part in drama workshops during a Romans day.
Year 5 had a Victorian Day today, with staff and children dressing in period costumes and with the school day replicating the experiences of Victorian schoolchildren.
The school's ICT network has been upgraded this week, with installation of a new server running Windows 2003 Server. A memeber of the county ICT team was in school Monday to Wednesday overseeing the process and our technician, Mr Harman, has been on site all week to finetune things.
Yesterday morning one of the Year 6 classes took part in a series of training workshops led by members of the Injury Minimizatyion Programme for School (IMPS). Find out more about this organisation on their website.

The other Year 6 class have their training next Thursday.
Yesterday selected playleaders from Y6 received a skipping workshop in the afternoon and then gave Y2 - Y5 a demonstration of skipping techniques that could be used in the playground.
There was a further skipping workshop after school.



Skipping ropes, priced ?3.95, will be available form the school office for the next two weeks. Children's names should be taped to the plastic handles.
The school's broadband internet connection was down for three days (Wednesday through to Friday) last week.
The fault was finally rectified on Friday lunchtime.
Yesterday, Sue Marsh from CfBT, led the staff in activities designed to reinforce and embed our recently reviewed Behaviour Policy.
This morning Teaching Assistants received their second session of training in a software package called Communicate In Print.
After school some members of Southdown staff visited the school to look at the way class and individual targets are displayed.
A group of Y4 children were presented with Blue Peter badges in last week's Good Work assembly, awarded in recognition of their web design skills.
