
On the last day of term a group of children from the Kabubbu School in Uganda visited. After performing some of their songs they socialised with Years 5 & 6 and joined the rest of the school for lunch. The Quicken Trust, a local charity which supports the education of these African children, was presented with a cheque made up of donations received at the school's Christmas concerts and carol service.

Mr Alexander contemplates his Goodbye card in the final assembly of the term after completing a highly successful teaching practice in Year 2. We wish Mr Alexander all the very best in his future career.
The KS2 children had their annual carol service at St Mary's Church last night.

The first major event organised by Melanie Izon and the new committee of the Friends of Hawkes Farm was a resounding success.
Christmas Fair takings exceeded £2000, with final funds raised (after expenses) expected to be not much under that figure. The fair was opened by the Town Mayor (delegating for MP Charles Hendry, who was suffering with scarlet fever). Just before 2pm the queue stretched into Hawks Road and took over 40 minutes to pass through
the entrance.

At 2.45pm precisely the whole of KS2 took part in the BigSing, a national attempt to get into the Guinness Book of Records by having more than one million voices singing the same song simultaneously.
The Reception and Year 1 classes performed their nativity musical to the first audience of parents this morning, having had a dress rehearsal in front of other yeargroups yesterday. There is one more performance tomorrow.

The Christmas postboxes have been in use since the beginning of the week and children are busy sending cards to one another.
The school football team had a home friendly against Herstmoncuex. They won the gaem 9 - 0.
