1
THE GIANT SLAYER
Well done to all Year 3 and Year 4 pupils for an excellent drama production
based on the bible story “David and Goliath”. Thank you to
staff and parents for making it such a fantastic event.
2
STAFF VARIETY SHOW
Thank you to staff who entertained the children on the last day of term.
I’m sure many of you have seen the colourful pictures in the Hailsham
Gazette. The money raised from this event was £167 which goes towards
the Tsunami Appeal.
3
RED NOSE DAY
This was another successful event last term that raised approximately
£280. Children took part by wearing red clothes, a red nose or mad
hair.
The day
also saw a drama production by the Drama Club on their theme of ‘Bullying’
Thank you to Mrs Stockdale and ‘Act on It’ for their work
with the children.

REMINDERS
(a) School Opening – The gates are open from 8.30am to avoid the
children waiting on the pavement by the busy main road. Please do be aware
that staff are on duty at 8.45am in the playground. Do remind your children
to wait sensibly on the playground areas before school starts.
(b) Zig-Zag Parking – We do ask that you avoid parking on the zig-zag
lines outside the school, so that children’s safety is put first.
It is a busy road and clear views of the crossing areas will prevent accidents.
Thank you for your support.

SPORTS
(a) Well done to the Year 2 Dance Club children for their “Summer”
dance which was performed at Grovelands School at the end of the Spring
Term. A very enjoyable afternoon with students from HCC and the Hailsham
Primary Schools.
(b) Congratulations once again to the netball and football teams for their
participation in the local festivals.
(c) Well done to the cross country junior children for their successes
at recent events.
The children
at Hawkes Farm continue to make the most of the opportunities available
at clubs after school. Thank you to the staff and parents who give up
their time to run these extra activities.
