Dear Parents

Welcome back after the Christmas Break. I would like to wish you all a Happy New Year. Thank you for your support at the end of term Christmas events. We were able to send a cheque for £100 to the Salvation Army as a result of your kind donations.

1 TSUNAMI APPEAL
The events that have unfolded since the Tsunami hit the Asian countries in December, have brought together our thoughts for all those who lost their lives. A tragedy which is estimated to have taken 145,000 lives.

We will be asking the children of the School Council to consider raising funds to support the World Appeal for donations. Special prayers and time for reflection will be given at our assemblies at the beginning of term for children and adults to come together to think about the victims and helpers in those countries hit by the Tsunami.

2 SCHOOL MEALS
There has been an increase in the cost of a school meal this term. The new amount is £1.37. Drinks have also increased: fresh fruit juice is 35p, flavoured milk is 34p and Calypso cup drinks are 24p.

Could we also remind parents that any monies borrowed from the school office for school dinners, should be repaid as quickly as possible.

3 PARENT GOVERNOR
On Thursday, 6th January we sent home ballot papers for you to nominate parent governors for Hawkes Farm. If you did not receive your copy, please contact the School Office. All slips need to be returned by 13th January.

4 FAMILY DISCO
The Annual Friends of Hawkes Farm Family Disco will take place on Friday, 14th January from 7.00 – 9.00 pm. Slips were sent home on Friday, 7th January for you to book your tickets in advance.

5 RECEPTION ADMISSIONS – SEPT, 2005
Our open week will take place week commencing 24th January. If you would like to have a tour and find out about our school please contact the office and let us know which day you would like to visit.
