Dear Parents

We are at the end of Term 3 and all looking forward to the one week break.

1 NEW PARENTS
If your child is due to start school in September, please make sure you have handed in your green preference form to the school office. The East Sussex website also has an electronic form and access to the ‘Admissions Booklet’ for further information.

2 PARENT’S EVENING
Parents’ Evening will take place on:
Tuesday, 27th February from 3.30 – 6.00pm
Thursday, 1st March from 4.30 – 7.00pm
Letters went home on Monday asking you to sign up for an appointment by Friday, 9th February.

3 FOHF – WILDLIFE AREA
The new wildlife area is really beginning to take form. You can just about see the trail through the area. The fenced off area is where the new pond will be.

The next event run by the Friends will be a disco on Friday, 27th April.

4 YEARS 3 & 4 DRAMA PRODUCTION
“Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs”
This will take place on Thursday, 22nd March. Further information will be available nearer the time.

5 SCHOOL FOOD POLICY
During Terms 1 & 2, staff and governors have been looking at a draft Food Policy. We have sent draft copies of this policy to a sample group of parents throughout the school. If you are interested in reading and commenting on this, extra copies are available from the school office.

6 CHRISTIAN AID
We received a letter of thanks from Christian Aid for our Harvest donation of £194.87. Our gift helped support work in more than 50 of the world’s poorest countries. Thank you for your support and contributions last Harvest (Term 1).

7 BOOK WEEK
This year we have organised a range of exciting activities for the children for our Book Week. Each year group will have its own theme. We have organised for bookmaking, storytelling, ‘Dress as a Character Day’ and the grand finale on the Friday with the Puppeteers.

This year we have received funding from the Hailsham cluster of schools with a focus on literacy. Mrs Gent (Early Years Team Leader and Literacy Subject Leader) is organising the activities. A letter is attached with more information and to say how you can get involved if you have some time to spare.

Look out for:
Science Week – 12th March
Multi-cultural Arts Week – 11th June

We hope that your child will enjoy the extra enrichment activities that these theme weeks will bring.
