Dear Parents
Welcome
back after the Christmas Break. I would like to wish you all a Happy New
Year. Thanks you for your support at the end of term Christmas Events.
We were able to donate £197 towards the Quicken Trust visit to Kabbubu
Primary School. The Poppy Appeal also raised a further £36.20.
1 PARENT
GOVERNOR
You should have received the nomination form for the current school governor
vacancy last week. If you are interested in finding out more, please do
come and ask at the school office. All slips need to be returned by 24th
January, 2007.

Tuesday, 23rd January 2.00 pm
Wednesday, 24th January 10.00 am
3 MIDDAY
SUPERVISOR
We currently have a vacancy for a Midday Supervisor. If you would like
further information, please contact the office.
4 EMERGENCY
CLOSURES
Where weather conditions are likely to cause widespread closures or changes
to normal school arrangements, Southern FM (102.4 fm) has agreed with
the LEA to include details of closures in its broadcasts and on its website.
We will also contact Sovereign Radio (107.5 fm) and BBC Southern Counties
Radio (104 - 104.8 fm) to ensure wide coverage in the event of school
closure www.southernfm.co.uk.
Also, a
reminder that children should not arrive on the school site before 8.30
am. The school gates are open so that children can wait on the playgrounds
and not outside on the busy pathways. In the event of school closure,
the radio station will be informed by 8.00 am on the day.
5 COATS
A reminder that all children need to bring a waterproof coat to school.
The wind and light rain does not stop outside playtimes. The new fleeces
are lovely, but are not protective enough in the middle of winter. We
would appreciate your support with this.
6 A
REMINDER
A reminder that this is a particularly short term and that we finish Term
3 on Friday 9th February, returning to school on Monday, 19th February.
Yours sincerely
Mrs V Cobb
Headteacher

8 NEWS
FROM FOHF PTA – January - 2007
I hope you
all had a very merry and relaxed Christmas and wish you a prosperous New
Year!
Donations to the school: Santa’s presents to KS1: £ 84
Funds raised last term but not previously itemised: Christmas letters
from Santa: £ 147
We await the financial results from the Yellow Moon fundraising catalogue
which was another fund raising event held last term.
EVENTS FOR
THIS YEAR:
January – Sutton Seeds catalogues. Those of you who are keen gardeners
will know that now is the time to start germinating. Catalogues will be
sent to you via book bags. If they do not appeal to you, perhaps you will
consider passing them on to someone who may be interested in them. At
the end of the day, your children will benefit from the funds raised from
this growing initiative.
February – Don’t our children grow so quickly! Please send
all your undersized uniform into the school as we will be holding a nearly
new uniform clothing sale and need new stock to raise funds. Please send
your donations via the school office.
March – Our Family disco event! Fully licensed bar, competition
for the best dressed Easter attire! Great raffle prizes. Confirmation
of dates will be given in the next newsletter and places can be booked
in advance via book bag correspondence.
Christmas rejects; Replacement of mobiles or printer cartridges? You must
have heard the advertisements on TV and radio. Your old stuff recycled
is worth pounds to support our school. Bring them into school and drop
them off in the box provided at the main entrance. All funds raised from
this will go towards Friends’ projects.
Thank you so much for your support.
